Salut! Welcome to the French Countryside!

I’m introducing several classic French designs for dining chair seat covers inspired by my love for the pastoral beauty and calm of the French countryside!  

For over 20 years I’ve enjoyed French lifestyle with its celebration of daily life!

I love going to the antique country markets and second hand shops to find old treasures such as traditional French needlepoint tapestries and embroidered linen.

My new patterns for ZIVA reveal a blend of traditional French needlework and my love of French country vineyards, gardens and orchards … but with a tweak!

The designs for  My French Country Series are more stylized and contemporary in nature than the vintage French needlework pieces.

However, these designs still retain the scale, delicacy and elegance of their cultural heritage.

MY FRENCH COUNTRY ORCHARD SERIES

The 40 fruit trees in our French orchard are not only a source of great majestic beauty, but also a source of great pies and jams!

They are also the inspiration for these graceful dining chair seat covers designs! 

‘FLOATING’ PATTERNS 

• Each motif is approximately 8 – 10” (20 - 25 cm) wide and deep, to be centred on your chair, giving it a ‘floating’ appearance.
• The scale of these motifs (as priced) suits a dining chair seat of approximately 15”-19” (38 - 48 cm) square. NOTE: Custom Sizes available… just ask!
  
• The motifs are all approximately the same size to create a set of 6 for your dining room.
• You could repeat two of the designs to make up a set of 8 OR make each one twice for a set of 12 OR make up the number you need with just one design. YOUR CHOICE.
• These designs work equally well upholstered on the chair seat or as a chair seat pad.
  

CLASSIC COLOURS

• Likewise, I have purposely used a range of similar colours for all the dining chair seat covers patterns to create a set for 6 dining chairs. 
  
• The dark red-browns and range of golds in each design are also purposely selected to harmonize with the dark or light wood of most dining chairs.
• I’ve kept the background colour neutral in each case (light taupe), so you can see the design details. However, the background colour can match one of the colours in your home décor. Just let us know with your order.

MY FRENCH COUNTRY GARDEN SERIES

After several years of toiling in our mature French Country garden, it’s still a work in progress! 

Every season I find joy in the blooming flowers and bushes… from the spring daffodils, tulips, irises, wisteria and calla lilies, to the summer into autumn display of daylilies, clematis, roses, hydrangeas, and rudbeckias. 

Our pansies flower all winter here joined by the first spring flowers of primaveras in February! 

 

'FLOATING' PATTERNS

• Each Art Nouveau stylized flowers motif is approximately 8” – 10” (20 - 25 cm) wide and deep, to be centred on your chair, giving it a ‘floating’ appearance.  
• The scale of these motifs suits a dining chair seat of approximately 16”-18” (40 - 46cm) square.
• NOTE: Custom Sizes available… just ask!
• The motifs are all approximately the same size to create a set of 4 for your dining room.  You could repeat two of the designs to make up a set of 6 OR make each one twice for a set of 8 OR make up the number you need with just one design. YOUR CHOICE.

                  

DYNAMIC COLOURS 

• Likewise, we have purposely used a range of similar colours for all the dining chair seat covers patterns to create a matching set for 4 dining chairs.  
• We have selected the same range of warm to cool greens in the leaves for each design to complement the dynamic flower colours of reds, fuchsias and blue violets.  
• We’ve kept the background colour neutral in each case (light grey), so you can see the design details.  However, the background colour and even the flower colours can match the colour scheme in your home décor.

The Wisteria and the Hydrangeas are ‘de rigueur’ in every French garden! 

Their beautiful range of colours from rose to blues and purples give us pleasure from spring to fall.
