RECENT PAINTINGS/PAINTINGS IN PROGRESS

'CLEMATIS BUDS' WALL HANGING IN PROGRESS

We recently got this order to paint this elegant Clematis Buds design...

CLASSIC ART NOUVEAU!

The entire design is 30"! x 47.5"

We printed the design at full scale and are using it as our guide (as above).

We've also enlarged a quarter, painted, of our design for you to see the amount of detail required (see below).

All the design elements of Classic Art Nouveau are present in this beautiful design.... fluid floral theme, natural sinous contours, whiplash curves and shapes inspired by nature.

I love how all the colours give the impression of the blazing sun shining on the Clematis buds and leaves!

You'll see it complete in our next newsletter - stay tuned!

We create Custom sizes and Custom designsfor our clients. Just go to Contact Us and we’ll show you what your choice can look like!

NEW DESIGNS

COMING SOON ... another bold cut-out Matisse design to add to our ZIVA Matisse Collection, called 'Matisse Triangles'

This rare and beauiful artist's proof was adapted by ZIVA from an original exhibition poster by Matisse from 1952.

And the bold colours - reds, greenish yellow, light green and turquoise on a strong blue background are all in juxtaposition with the black and white shapes!

What a beautiful and bold accent it adds to the corner of this living room!

Three Colour Schemes based on the same design!

TRADITIONAL ART NOUVEAU COLOURS

We've created a definitive Art Deco design, called 'Streamline Deco' which features a wheat colour, a light grey and black only.

This very disciplined colour choice emphasizes the classic asymmetrical composition of graphic abstract curves and bold straight directional lines.

We've shown it reversed, for those of you who want to stitch it twice!

For the size of your cell phone we recommend you add/delete stitches from the rows of your outside border.

Want more colour? Here are some ideas...

READING THE CHART:

STREAMLINE DECO

This time we have shown you the Mobile phone/Glasses case chart... PAINTED!

  • This chart shows the free Mobile phone/Glasses case chart design with 12-gauge evenweave canvas.
  • The chart represents an approx. 3.25" w x 6.75" (8.25 x 17 cm) case. If you want it larger, just add ore border rows, but keep the design still off-center.
  • NOTE: We have purposely shown the grey colour darker for you to see it better for ease of stitching.

STREAMLINE DECO REVERSED

  • This chart shows the same design but reversed, for those of you who want the case design on both sides.

    MY QUESTION:

    Hi Subscribers,

I'm turning the tables! I'm asking you a question!

What designs would you like to see more of?

Over the last 15 1/2 years, I've designed/adapted styles from:

    • Persia, Japan and China
    • Various European and North American periods from Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Bauhaus, Mid-Century Moderne
    • Klimt, Mackintosh, Picasso and Matisse
    • Architecture from Gaudi and Lloyd Wright

Would you like to see more of any of the above or something completely new?

I'm all ears! Let me know - remember NO people or animals!

    Warmest regards,

    Sylvia McLeod
